ILLUSTRATION

Ian's work also includes illustration, poster design and architectural renderings.

He contributed cartoon illustrations to the 2005 architectural publication Well Built?, warning against the dangers of unsafe methods in the construction industry, and, through the UK Society of Illustrators, submitted a design for Transport for London's new logo.

He regularly illustrates his own written articles, and designs posters for his exhibitions and illustrated talks. Browse some examples here.

His architectural work includes perspective and exploded-view renderings for building proposals. Some of them are here.

PENCIL-LINE DRAWINGS

Inspired by Bauhaus tutor Paul Klee's famous dictum about 'taking a line for a walk' and Ben Nicholson's lesser-known sketches of the Yorkshire landscape, Ian's minimal pencil drawings tackle the gnarled shapes of Pembrokeshire's coast and buildings in linear style.
